Hello. My name is Dennis Canon and I’m so happy you’ve chosen this course and I want to thank you for doing so.

In this course, we'll take it nice and easy, focusing on simple exercises that are easy to follow and understand.

We’ll focus on 4 main groups of tools that are essential to get you started. I briefly go over these 4 groups and will provide a simple exercise for you to practice.

This course is intended so you can understand the basics quickly and learn the 4 main groups of tools so you can start working in illustrator right away.

Now you will need to practice in order to get better. This course will get you started, but it’s up to you to improve your skills. So have some patience and learn at your own pace.

Dennis Canon is a Creative Art Director with over 15 years of experience in the field of consumer products, branding, and advertising. He has a solid and strong understanding of all aspects of design, communication, and brand implementation. 

He is a professor at USC, CSULB and LBCC and he has taught at Otis College Art & Design, FIDM, and Chapman University. He also lends his time as a guest speaker/portfolio reviewer for Art Center, Laguna College of Art & Design, and CSUN. He also has his own professional practice where he helps small to medium size brands identify their strengths to ensure their product attracts, inspires, and engages with their core consumers.
